VWCS Staff Give to Local Summer Programs

For the eight year in a row, the Van Wert Federation of Teachers donated $1,250 to both The Brumback Summer Reading Program and the YWCA Youth Enrichment Program, which includes the After School and Summer Food programs. Through their annual end-of-year fundraiser, Van Wert City School employees are encouraged to donate to the fundraiser in exchange for the opportunity to “dress casual” the last week of school.

VWFT President, Jeff Hood, said, “The very nature of school teachers is to pour their resources into our children and by collecting pocket change for one week, we are able to promote our community and children of Van Wert. Our people have really done a great job of that.”
