Board of Education meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the First Federal Lecture Hall in the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
SCOTT MULL - PRESIDENT
Scott Mull is a claims supervisor at Central Mutual Insurance Company. In addition to serving on the Van Wert City School Board, Scott is active with the United Way of Van Wert County, Junior Achievement of Van Wert County and serves on the Board of Trustees at Northwest State Community College. Scott is married to Kim Mull, a para-professional at the Early Childhood Center and they have two daughters, Gracie and Lilie, who are active in the Van Wert City School system. Scott enjoys being part of the Van Wert City Schools to help promote its educational excellence, best-in-class staff and financial stability.
ANTHONY ADAMS - VICE PRESIDENT
Anthony Adams was raised outside of Findlay, Ohio. He is a 1993 graduate of Liberty Benton High School. Anthony attended Bowling Green State University where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance in 1997. In 2000, Anthony moved to Van Wert when he married Nikki Butler who is employed at Van Wert City Schools as a preschool teacher. The Adams’ are proud parents of three children; Spencer, Cooper, and Landon. For the past 16 years, Anthony has been employed at First Financial Bank as a Vice President, Commercial Underwriter. In addition to being a member of the Van Wert City School Board, he also serves on the board of the Van Wert Service Club and is involved with Junior Achievement, Life House Church, coaching youth sports, and many other community organizations.
Debby Compton is a 1996 graduate of Van Wert High School. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy from Bowling Green State University, her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Des Moines University and her Master's in Business Administration from Tiffin University. A physical therapist by trade, she is now currently the Administrative Director of Ancillary Services at Van Wert County Hospital. Debby is the VWCS representative on the Vantage Career Center Board of Education and the Van Wert Area Schools Insurance Group. She is also a member of the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce Board. Debby and her husband, Luke, who is also a VWHS alumnus, have two children, LJ and Clara. Debby takes pride in being a part of the Van Wert City Schools and supporting the work of meeting every student's individual needs.
Rachel Dickman is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the work of Van Wert City Schools and help ensure that each and every VWCS student has equitable access to high quality educational opportunities. She is currently an assistant professor of educational foundations and leadership at Old Dominion University. Rachel received her Bachelor's degree in public policy from The University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, a Master's degree in education leadership and policy from The Ohio State University, and a PhD in education policy from Michigan State University. Rachel is also a member of the Van Wert Business Advisory Council and volunteers with the Van Wert CIty Schools cross country and track programs. Rachel's spouse, Justin, is a 2006 graduate of Van Wert City Schools and is an attorney at Keister & Baker, LLC. As former Division I college athletes (track & cross country), both Justin and Rachel continue to run competitively in road races across the Midwest, while also sharing their love of running with the Van Wert community.
Tom Losh is a 1997 graduate of Van Wert High School. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University and he is a veteran of the US Air Force. He is a current member of the Indiana Air National Guard out of Fort Wayne. He has 18+ years of total service and four deployments to the Middle East. Additionally, he is a the Vice Commander of the Harvey Lewis Post #346 American Legion in Ohio City, President of the revolving loan fund committee for Van Wert County Economic Development, and a member of the Van Wert Elks Lodge #1197. Tom has three children attending Van Wert City Schools.
