VWHS students outside the OSU lab

Van Wert High School students traveled to the Ohio State University last week, where they were able to get first-hand experience at the university's cadaver lab.

VWHS students were in the lab for about an hour and a half being educated by medical students, most in their 3rd year of med school at OSU. "The OSU med students were amazing and took their time explaining and answering any questions that the students had. It was such a great experience for everyone," Van Wert High School science teacher, Mrs. Temple, said. "They were able to see real human structures and get a first-hand experience with the differences between healthy, damaged, cancerous and different anomalies that happen in the human body. This was a great way to reinforce what the students have learned in their Anatomy & Physiology class, PLTW Biomedical Innovations class, and PLTW Human Body Systems class."
