Van Wert County General Health District

The Van Wert County General Health District in conjunction with Van Wert Health are requesting that those presenting mild and manageable symptoms of COVID-19 to stay at home and self-isolate. If you have questions, please reach out to your primary care provider. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. If you cannot manage your symptoms, please contact your primary care provider for further instruction. Van Wert Health North is also available to triage patients requiring care. If you have increasing shortness of breath, please go to the Emergency Room.

Unless you are having severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, do not go to the Emergency Room. If you have severe symptoms of COVID-19 and plan to go to the ER, please call 419-238-2390 to let them know you’re coming. Do not go to the Emergency Room requesting to be tested for COVID-19. There are limited test lists available which are reserved for hospitalized high-risk patients. We appreciate the cooperation of our providers and patients as we work through this challenging situation.
