4th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Brings Families Together at The Goedde
VAN WERT— Van Wert County celebrated a heartwarming tradition as the 4th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted by VWCS at The Goedde, brought together students and their families, staff, and the community. This special event was made possible by a generous grant from the United Way of Van Wert County, reflecting the power of collaboration and giving back.
The dinner, prepared by VWCS Goedde students and staff, offers more than just a delicious family-style Thanksgiving feast. It serves as a hands-on learning experience for students, teaching valuable culinary skills while fostering a deeper understanding of family and community values.
The Director, Rhonda Cunningham, stated "The dinner is about more than just food, it’s about showing kids the importance of family, teaching them social skills, and helping them learn what it truly means to give—not just during the holidays, but in every aspect of life."
As students roll up their sleeves to prepare this traditional meal, they are not only learning practical life skills but also building a sense of connection—to their families, their school, and their community.
This cherished event has become a highlight of the season, creating lasting memories and instilling values that extend far beyond the Thanksgiving table.
