No Child Without a Bed: Community Effort In Action

Every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep. In Van Wert County, that goal is becoming a reality thanks to a county-wide effort by Van Wert City Schools, along with several local agencies and community members.
Through the combined efforts of generous community agencies and individuals, children in need are receiving essential bedding supplies, including:
- A twin mattress and bed frame
-
Pillows and pillowcases
-
Sheets and a comforter
Beds are delivered directly to families’ homes. By default, deliveries are left at the door, but arrangements can be made for indoor delivery. For families needing additional support, the Van Wert Rotary offers bed assembly upon request.
Referrals for children in need are encouraged. Anyone aware of a child without a bed is asked to contact Van Wert School at the Goedde building and leave a message for Mrs. Cunningham at 419-238-6540. Calls will be returned as soon as possible.
This initiative reflects a powerful commitment across Van Wert County: no child should have to sleep on the floor. Through collaboration and compassion, the community is ensuring every student starts and ends each day with the comfort and dignity of a bed.
