As we work together in this unprecedented situation, we want to be proactive in our efforts to support students and their families. In the days and weeks ahead, we will work together with patience as we adapt to this extended yet temporary change in our everyday lives. During these uncertain times, we are committed to a collaborative and shared approach in order to best support the needs of our children. The information shared below is intended to provide you with some direction regarding accessing support. It is our intention that as your School Counselors we will continue to provide services to students and parents throughout the closure of our school. We can be contacted during virtual office hours of Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. e-mail or by dialing 419-238-2180. We will then directly contact those students and families in a timely manner and develop a plan that fits the needs of the student. We ask that you please read the information below as it applies to your situation.
TO ALL STUDENTS:
Scheduling: If you have not already turned in your course registration for next year, please email or call your school counselor to set up a Zoom session to complete this form. If you’re unable to meet by Zoom, a phone conference can be provided. It is critical that this is completed as these forms were due prior to spring break.
College Credit Plus: As a reminder, CCP Letters of Intent are due to this office by April 1, 2020. You may mail them to the High School, or scan and email them to Mrs. Burkheimer. If needed, forms can be accessed here.
State End of Course Testing: We are awaiting word from the Ohio Legislature on how to proceed with State Testing. We will give you information as it becomes available.
ACT Testing: The April ACT Test has been cancelled. You should receive information from ACT directly which will allow you to pick an alternative test date. VWHS will be hosting a June ACT but we will NOT be a July ACT testing center.
Scholarships: Right now is a critical time to complete scholarship applications. We have scanned and linked all of the scholarships on the HS Student Services Webpage. Any scholarship that you would turn into Student Services should be mailed to the High School, or emailed to email@example.com.
Transcripts: If you need a transcript for scholarships, college admission, or any other reason, please complete the transcript request form found here, or by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Senior Projects: We are currently working to address Senior Projects. As of right now, we plan to return to school which would allow you to present your senior projects at the end of April. Please continue to work in your binders and make sure that all information is completed. Work diligently with your English teacher to make sure you are up to date on any changes in the requirements.
Senior Letters: You should expect communication soon from your English teachers regarding the completion of your Senior Letters. Remember, this is a letter in which you can address a VWCS staff member who has made a substantial impact on your life. All students will complete this assignment.
AP Testing: We are working diligently with the College Board to understand the future of AP Testing for this school year. Expect information to come from your AP Teacher.
As always, our goal is to be available to help and guide you through this time of uncertainty. Again, we are available by e-mail, phone (419-238-2180), or Zoom. Please reach out to us as we continue to move forward.
